I spent Christmas Day quite differently this year. My boyfriend and I met up on December 25, for the very first time in the entire six and a half years of our relationship. He is usually abroad during Christmastime, while I stay at home with my family. This year, we spent an unforgettable first Christmas together.
We had an early morning breakfast at Spectrum, a buffet restaurant at one of the newest hotels in the City of Makati, Fairmont Makati.
Spectrum’s dining area at 9 a.m. on Christmas Day was exceptionally bright and welcoming. The servers greeting us “Merry Christmas” with cheerful smiles on their faces delighted us already, just as we were about to be seated.
This all-day dining restaurant features a wide selection of international cuisines. Whether you’re into Danish pastries or cheesy ensaymadas, smoked bangus or sausages, there are enough choices to satisfy one’s breakfast cravings.
Have you ever seen real live bees in an artificial beehive inside a restaurant? We just did! I felt a bit sorry for the bees trapped inside the glass case, though.
The L-shaped dining area is surrounded with full-length glass windows, with ample space outdoors for al fresco dining.
The place was a full house that day, with a handful people lining up for a table outside. We were glad to have made a reservation days before.
The food was delicious. I especially liked their cappuccino, and freshly baked breads.
The area of Fairmont Makati is not as large as other luxury hotels, which also gives it a homey and cozy ambience.
At the lobby of the hotel is a small patisserie named Café Macaron. It serves pastries, cakes, and uniquely flavored macarons like queso de bola, mango, and pandan.
That’s me and him. ♡
